The leading manufacturer of workwear and protective clothing Engelbert Strauss has expanded its presence at its headquarters in Biebergemünd with the prestigious construction of a new administration building. The premises were completed in spring 2015. The transparent glass railings with the horizontal stainless steel handrail emphasize the straight-lined building architecture with its symmetrically arranged galleries and walkways.

Glass railings for stairs

In accordance with the TRAV (Technical Rules for Fall-Proof Glazing) guidelines applicable at the time of manufacture

  • verifiable statics based on 1.0 kN/m beam load
  • supporting structure made of extruded aluminum profile with infill brackets made of welded steel glass pocket
  • 2 x 10 mm thick laminated safety glass panes, laminated with PVB film, ground edges, pane length up to 2700 mm
  • glass panes are fixed by inserting them into the glass pockets, pouring and sealing with testable casting compound without constraint
  • stainless steel round tube handrail with groove, diameter 48 mm, glued and sealed to the glass panels with neoprene interlayer
